A conversation with Real Mom & Sr. Art Director for Motherhood Klaudia with Editor, Callan
As Sr. Art Director for Motherhood, Klaudia is normally the one behind the camera, making sure the magic happens on screen. But for Mother's Day, we had a candid conversation with Klaudia about what it means to be a working mom, family traditions & more.

C: As the Sr. Art Director for Motherhood, what exactly do you do?
K: I normally get to enjoy all the behind the scenes action and art direct all of our photo and video shoots with amazing mothers. Now, sitting in their place, it's a little surreal for me but it's an honor and it's very humbling! I have been with Motherhood for nine years. I was pregnant with my first daughter Vittoria when I started with the company, and I just had my 2nd baby girl Olivia in January.

As Sr. Art Director, I love concepting and creating campaigns focused around our community of Real Moms. But what I love most is having the opportunity to meet all the amazing women during our photoshoots, as they bring our concepts to fruition whether it be through hearing their stories or seeing them on set. I honestly feel so humbled to experience this firsthand, it allows me to learn so much from other mamas.

C: How are you feeling about being on the other side of production today?
K:Today definitely feels surreal. I've been so fortunate to be on the other side, obviously, hearing so many wonderful stories from moms and moms-to-be and now I get to sit here in their seat and just talk about motherhood.

C: And on a scale of one to ten, how awkward is it?
K:Very! Very awkward. I give all these moms lots of props, they're amazing. That’s the biggest take away today, for sure.

C: Tell me about being a working mom. You're sitting here trying to talk to us and I know you're listening to your newborn daughter crying in the other roomWhat’s it like trying to balance it all?
K: Being a working mom is definitely a juggle, and I say that lightly because it truly is... you just don't turn it off. You're constantly on the go. Your mind is just, kind of, on and off in different modes. You're thinking about work and then you're thinking about what you have to do as a mom, you know. I need to do a mood board, I need to do a concept board, oh wait, I need to feed my kid, I have homework to do with my eight-year-old, and now my two-month-old, I need to feed her. It's a lot, but it all comes together at the end, and you make it work. You know, moms are pretty resilient in that respect. They just make it happen.

C: Is there anything that you've learned while working here, at Motherhood, that you've applied to your role as a mom? I feel like I'm constantly learning on the job as I speak with other mothers.
K: Things that I have applied from working here is…. literally everything from every shoot.

JUST BEING BEHIND THE SCENES AND HEARING THE STORIES FROM OTHER MOMS AND THEIR EXPERIENCES AND WHAT THEY GO THROUGH — ALL THE UPS AND DOWNS OF MOTHERHOOD — YOU KIND OF REFLECT ON IT AND REALIZE THAT YOU'RE NOT ALONE.

And some things you learn, it's just a whole new thing for you, and you're like: “Oh wow, I never thought about it this way,” or, “Oh wow, you're going through the same thing as me.” So, I feel like after every shoot I take all those things home with me and I keep them very dear to me. I just constantly relate to all the moms out there. And I'm just so fortunate to be able to have these experiences, really.
